Fitch fought his potential abductors and by doing so he saved the life of his brother Abercrombie.
Unfortunately Fitch could not recover from the injuries he received from these cruel and heartless people and he succumbed. Fitch lost his battle for life on March 5, 2007 at 11:56pm at the University of Georgia.
Rest in Peace Dear Brave Fitch... For you we will continue to fight!!!

MISSION STATEMENT

Pure Thoughts Inc. is an all volunteer 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of horses, yearlings and foals that were bound for slaughter for human consumption in addition to Equines that are victims of starvation, neglect and abuse..

Destiny upon arrival at Pure Thoughts

Horses, yearlings and foals bound for slaughter would have been brutally tortured and slaughtered so that they could be served as a delicacy in foreign countries. Horse Welfare is the primary concern at Pure Thoughts. Our mission is based on the realization that we, as a nation, have domesticated these horses and must take responsibility for their life. Horses give to us their heart and soul, whether for work, sport, entertainment or recreation, the horse only knows to give. To use a horse only as long as it fulfills our needs, then subject it to physical and/or mental abuse and subsequent death, whether on the slaughterhouse floor, abandoned in a field no longer being cared for, or even in a stall no longer being provided its’ physical needs is a violation of that horse’s right. Rights that only we can supply the horse, after all we have domesticated them.

The intention Pure Thoughts Inc is:

· To promote and secure the safety and well being of all horses.

· To rehabilitate horses that are in need

· To provide a humane and peaceful end of life when needed

· To educate people with regard to the physical and mental health of horses.

· To teach and apply the proper training of horses through positive training techniques.

· To provide proper placement of the horses in their “forever home”

· To insure the safety of the placed horses throughout the rest of their lives.

Horses bring happiness and pleasure to people of all ages. Our labors to restore horses to productive and happy lives are focused on their ability to socialize with humans and other horses, thus insuring a good quality “forever home:. It is our belief that once a horse is ready for his or her forever home. We must insure the education of the humans with their horse as well as match the horse’s personality and abilities to the potential adopters. Our volunteers that are involved with horses go through an orientation and receive an education before being ready to work with the horses, this will allow both human and horse to live and learn in a safe environment. Our educational programs are designed to increase their responsibility for a horse's welfare throughout this country. Through education we can put an end to horse abuse, neglect and to horse slaughter in the country.

Brad Gaver M.Ed, Co-Founder of Pure Thoughts Inc. Horse & Foal Rescue, has a history of success working with youths. His conceptual dream, “Pure Thoughts Horsemanship” which has turned into a reality, was started so that he may lead and guide our children on a path of success through equine therapy. Mr. Gaver has spent years studying the animal / human connection and has developed a program that unitizes horses as his means for not only reaching these children but also as a catalyst for each youth to grow within their selves, understand their true self and know that their future is for them to discover…. and decide the path they wish to take. The foals deserve a second chance to be loved and so do our children.
Bradley Gaver is also an accomplished horseman, farrier and trainer specializing in the "Art of Equine Communication for the Competitive Edge." Brad trains both human and horse to communicate on the same level so that their experience together is a rewarding one. In his words..."There isn't a horse out of reach.... time, patience and repetition is the key. Before anything a bond and mutual trust must be formed .
