Fitch

Fitch fought his potential abductors and by doing so he saved the life of his brother Abercrombie.
Unfortunately Fitch could not recover from the injuries he received from these cruel and heartless people and he succumbed. Fitch lost his battle for life on March 5, 2007 at 11:56pm at the University of Georgia.
Rest in Peace Dear Brave Fitch... For you we will continue to fight!!!

WE ARE HERE

We arrived last night. It was a nice ride. We stopped along the way and the man fed us our milk. It felt good to feel it get warmer and warmer as we drove down. We are very happy that you are all helping to save us and other ones like us. We knoe that it is expensive to save us and there are many more of us that will need help over the next 7 months... but we want you to know. WE ARE GRATEFUL.. and we THANK YOU... We did not ask to be born just to be orhpaned. We did not ask to be taken from our mother at such a yong age. We did not ask to be left to die while our Mom's go and nurse another baby.... We just asked to be loved... Was that asking too much??? Love, The Babies of ... The Little Load of Love 1

FOAL TEAMS 2008

Make a difference in a young life!!!

Foal Teams 2008 is here to help the nursemare foals. Through this program, foal teams will be able to choose their foal(s), name the foals and watch the progress of the foals they have saved! The babies that are sponsored by the "foal teams" will be brought to Pure Thoughts horse and foal rescue. Jennifer will keep the teams updated on all the team "saves" with pictures, updates on the babies, their personalities and funny antics! Their will also be updates on their health, growth and overall progress. The team goal is to sponsor foals for $500 each - One of the reasons we need to do this is because of the high costs of the foals. Apart from the cost of the foal and the shipping, caring for these foals in their first 60days is very very costly and we are trying to come up with a qway to offset the costs and not have to pass them on to the adoptive parents. Through the foal teams and fundraisers we will be able to keep the adoption price of the foals lower.

I will use Bendito and Alfia as an example of why we need to fundraise for these babies. Bendite went through complications and Alfia did not. Bendito was $250, Shipping was $200, His care while here was over $600 for 60 days, his vet bill because he got sick was $1245 and he was adopted with Alfia for an adoption fee of $350 for the both of them . Just on Bendito the rescue incurred a $2120 loss all of Alfia's costs were the same only she did not get sick so she was a loss of $875. This uses up all our grant money and any extra funding. So this year we ahve to become more creative in our fundraising.

This program was developed for more people to participate in helping these innocent foals. For example: 10 people can get together and put in $50 each or 20 people at $25 each. Team members can donate any amount and the individual donations will not be posted - only team totals will be shown. This will be great for atheletic teams, children's groups, bars & restaraunts, clubs, organizations, offices, companies...The list is endless! AS a team or as an individual you are welcome to think of and participate in any fundraising efforts. New ideas are always needed.

We will have some special fundraising items that we will list on this page and in our fundraising section If you have your team formed or want to join a team, please email us at the link below and provide the team's information: Team Name, City, Organization, and Name of team Members. There will be one paypal donation link for this year's program, and your team will receive the credit for your donation. Please use the paypal button at the top of this page to make your donation.

It is foaling season and they need us.. Time to get the teams formed and start helping these babies... Please pass this information along to others who may want to get involved. If ou have not joined a Foal Team and would like to .. please click the link below.
