TEAM HORSE 2009

We have many horses here that could use someone to watch over them. As a rescue we can also always use some extra help with the cost of care for the horses. Team Horse is a way that many people can get together and help a special four legged friend.

Your horses will be a surprise, each Team will be given a horse. When that horse gets adopted we will assign a new horse, yearling or foal to your Team.

It is not a requirement that all team members donate every month we understand that everyone has responsibilities and obligations. We do ask that every team do one fundraiser per year in any one of the team members area. This will help spread the word about the horses. Pure Thoughts will supply you with ideas, brochures, pictures, stories about the horses, wristband and a raffle item for the event. It can be anything from a potluck, a day at the barn, a table at a store, a office fundraiser... or any event you can think of.

As far as donating you can get set up on a automatic monthly donation, you can send in a check or just use paypal when you can.

All Team Members will receive a picture and a story about your special horse. The Teams are limited to 10 people. If there is an existing team right now that has more than 10 you have been grandfathered in.

Team Barbaro was formed in honor of the magnificent horse who not only won the Kentucky Derby in a sublime performance, he won all of our hearts with his spirit and courage. We are saving foals for Barbaro, and for all of the fallen horses that did not have a second chance. Team Barbaro is tirelessly fighting to end horse slaughter and we will not rest until it does.

FERDINAND...who represents that magnificent horses in our country that have given their hearts for our work, pleasure and competition and have been tossed aside and forgotten while they are still in the prime of life. 

It was the 1986 Kentucky Derby. Against 18-1 odds,
Ferdinand left the pack and entered history.
But two years ago, after being sold to stud in Japan, Ferdinand was slaughtered.
