Fitch "Forever Young" June 16. 2006 - March 5, 2007
Fitch fought his potential abductors and by doing so he saved the life of his brother Abercrombie. Unfortunately Fitch could not recover from the injuries he received from these cruel and heartless people and he succumbed.
Fitch lost his battle for life on March 5, 2007 at 11:56pm at the University of Georgia. Rest in Peace Dear Brave Fitch... For you we will continue to fight!!!

Horses Give ThanksHelp Us Help ThemI have spent the past 40 (all that I can remember) Thanksgivings being surrounded by friends, family, great food, fun and laughter, in the past we have spent Thanksgiving Day delivering dinners to less fortunate families and then at the end of the day we all sat down to a great feast. I have been truly blessed. Never once have I spent a Thanksgiving being afraid, alone or confused. I have never spent it without family and friends. I have never spent Thanksgiving in a cold pen just waiting for my doomed fate.
Thanksgiving may be a great day for many of us, we look forward to seeing our family and friends, laughing, eating and enjoying a day filled with love...but that will not be so for some horses, they will be on their way to auction, killpens and slaughter... they will be wondering why them, what did they do, why are they alone, cold and why doesn'tanyone care.
Well we are going to change that this year for many horses. We will be leaving Wednesday to head for Sugarcreek with not one but TWO, 6 horse trailers. We will be at Sugarcreek on Friday for the auction and meet Rachel, Diane and Ida there. Also anyone else that would like to come is more than welcome.. It will truly be a day of giving Thanks. We will be saving a minimum of 13 horses including this boy you see who is being pulled from the killpen in PA.. He is the poster child for this Thanksgiving Save. He will come down sooner so we have room on the trailer. But we will not stop at just our trailers. We are going to try and raise as much funds as possible and if there are other rescues and approved homes we will pull horses with these funds. If by some chance our trailers are not full, which I doubt, we will then head up to New Holland for the auction on Monday. If our trailers are full, we still have funds monies and there are more horses in need we wil make two trips. We will also use additional finds to pull horses from New Holland through Another Chance 4 Horses who will be at the New Holland auction on Monday..
We are hoping to raise as much money as possible, there is not limit, The more we raise the more horses that will be pulled to safety. If we can raise enough money to save 50 horses... we will do it.. It will just mean more trips back and forth for shipping but it can be done..Our first donation to kick-off this endeavour is the $326 we received from SaveDaHorses as a result of winning Octobers "Rescue of the Month" so thank you everyone that voted!!! As well as donations we will have items to sell under our "Fundraising Items" Link to help raise money for this save.
This year Thanksgiving will be a Holiday that the "HORSES GIVE THANKS!"
