Mac Stylish
Mac Stylish....SIRE Mighty Magnee ...DAM Wavering Style arrived at Pure Thoughts last week from Calder Race Course. He is a WONDERFULLY pleasant 6-year-old Gelding. Mac loves attention, is great with people and a very gentle horse. He loves to be ridden and is willing to do just about anything and has a great time doing it.
Big Mac no longer wanted to race. When his breeder heard that we had him he was so thankful and wrote us a lovely email about Big Mac. I asked for his permission to post his email because it is nice to see responsible breeders that truly care about their horses. You can see by this email that Big Mac was very loved and these wonderful people did more than some would do for Big Mac... Here is the email..
Email from Big Mac's breeder
dear people, i cannot tell you the relief i have knowing that macstylish is on his way to a new life in a safe haven. big mac was born on a very good farm in upstate new york to a very good mare called wavering style. i had raced wavering style and after a very big allowance win at aqueduct she fractured her front leg. she surely would have been a graded stakes horse, just coming into her own. i decided to breed her and her 1st foal out of Ide, won over 100,000 the hard way. mac was her second foal. and he was broke at a farm in carencro louisiana by good friends of mine darrel and beth clavell who break all my horses and are very good horse people. mack had colic as a 2year old so bad, the vets at the farm told me to put him down. darrel told me he was so strong that we should give him a shot and try and save him. darrel put him in a van and with another worker holding mack in the trailer took him to LSU to try and save him. mack never laid down the entire 60 mile journey. the vet, an english chap told me to put him down, i said i wanted him saved. he told me 5% chance, i said save him. 2 days later he called me and told me he never seen a horse want to live so much. 2 weeks later back to carencro to be hand fed for 2 months. he had lost almost 200 pounds at this point in time but was in great care since miss beth controlled his comeback on a day to day basis. the rest is history. was at his best last year early winning in tampa and a nice allowance race at finger lakes. but he just wants to be a horse at this time and i am glad that there are people out there like me that appreciate the responsibility of if you bring them into the world, you must take care of them. thank you all in whatever capacity you have done for mac to find a good home and give him the lifestyle he deserves going into the future. he has a heart of gold and like all horses his own little traits. he is gentle and will make someone a wonderful useful horse anyway they choose to use him. he has a sister, called SISTER GOT STYLE that will be racing in indiana over the next few weeks and is a pretty nice filly. he also has a yearling brother and his dam is just about ready to drop a EASY FROM THEGETGO foal in louisiana. maybe i have told you more than you want to know but, i am very proud of my horses and i am proud of MAC for giving me a little happiness in my life. if i can ever do anything for any of you, please do not hesitate to ask and thank you for your time you have taken with BIG MAC. sincerely ALFRED M ROMITO .
Big Mac arrived and was very happy to meet everyone...
Big Mac has a great time being ridden and enjoying life just being a horse. Took him a while to realize nothing was expected of him.... he is only here to be loved and doted on but once he figured that out... he got right into the swing of things...
Big Mac is a very gentle horse and wonderful to ride. There is nothing Big Mac cannot and would not do.
