Fitch

Fitch fought his potential abductors and by doing so he saved the life of his brother Abercrombie.
Unfortunately Fitch could not recover from the injuries he received from these cruel and heartless people and he succumbed. Fitch lost his battle for life on March 5, 2007 at 11:56pm at the University of Georgia.
Rest in Peace Dear Brave Fitch... For you we will continue to fight!!!

Gibber's Gold

Gibber's racing career ended this year. He has a chip in his knee and is no longer able to race. With proper rehabilitation Gibber will be able to go on and live a normal life. Gibber recently had x-rays done and he is in need of immediate surgery. He is currently on strict stall rest and limited hand grazing. It is very frustrating for this boy as he really wants to be out running around.

Here are some pictures of Gibber when he arrived, we were unaware of his condition and thought he only needed a couple months of stall rest and light turn out. He loved being in the paddock and letting everyone know he was there... and how handsome he is..

Gibber's Prognosis and Rehabilitation

Gibber will need surgery and months of rehabilitation.

He has the chip in his Left knee, which is not a new chip as his knee was called a "chronic knee" with remodeling of the bone - which is where the problem of this whole thing is. Remodeling is the bruised unhealthy bone caused by grinding away by the chip. This does not happen short term- this is "chronic" as she says. These were her exact words.

This is not a simple chip- the remodeled bone- that is evident above the chip is the issue. That all has to be cleaned out because usually it is so damaged that it flakes out anyway. When you see there DVD you will notice the grayer looking bone. This has to be cleaned up- and then you see what is left- and whether he remains sound or not. A new chip does not have the remodeling and those are really easy.

She also stated that for any possible healthy result- he should have surgery within the next 2 weeks as there is no arthritis in here yet and he could hopefully not damage this further. Also advised that because of the degree of remodeling that no-one would know if we were going to get a positive result of a perfectly sound horse until the surgeons went in and saw the actual degree of bone damage behind that chip.

Storm Cat on Sire side and Seattle Slew on Dam's side.. what a boy .. what a boy.  He is so beautiful and what a sweet boy.  He is a 5 year old gelding and after he has been checked by the vet it has been decided that he will need surgery.

Hell Of A Bell

He is the gelding that arrived Labor Day Weekend. He has a slab fracture and needs a few months off for starters and then we will be re-xraying his leg. He is quite adorable.

Here is his pedigree - he has a little Seattle Slew in him..
