Ranier becomes geldingWell the day came and it was time for Prince Ranier to lose his manhood.. well he is stil quite the beautiful man and proud of it but there is o reason for him to stay a Stallion... He was a very good boy, all went smoothly. The most nervous one of all was Princess Grace, she waited not so patiently in her stall and would not take her eyes away from where he was under the tree.
It is apparent that although these two may bicker at each other now and again, they are truly attached.. We are going to do everything we can to make sure these two beauties get adopted together. Ranier gets his drugs..... Brda holds Ranier's head, I guess he is saying everything is ok... or taking a personal count.. Castration day tends to make some people jumpy.

Grace is nervous.. and will not take her eyes off of Ranier

A Day LaterEveryone was feeling better.

Well I cannot tell you what a GREAT day I had..One of those days you never know is coming and then.... there BOOM it is and someone lays it in your lap.
So we went to pick up these two TB's. On my ride down.. I was working and then I was on with the feed store putting in our order. Knowing we have two more TB's coming in that are a negelct case I am thinking I better stock up.
I have gotten permission from the woman to use her name. So ,,,,to start the story ....I got a call from a wonderful woman whom I have known for years named Monica, long before I knew Monica she was out helping not only horses but any other type of animal that needed her.
Anyways.. I will cut to the chase.
We went down today to pick up two TB's from a neglect case.. Knowing what I know I am anticipating skin and bones. Well we pulled up and parked the trailer... I came into Monica's place and let me tell you.. THAT IS ANIMAL HAVEN/HEAVEN.. If you are an animal of any kind this is where you want to live...What a great experience this was for me.. and what fanatastic people Monica has around her.. It was great.. The icing on the cake was Buddy.. the baby Llama who came walking up with his Mom for a visit.. Man I was in heaven!!!
Ok so back to when I first came in.. Monica showed me the TB's...OH MY LORD... THEY WERE BEAUTIFUL... I have to cut to the end right now just to tell you a funny.. When I pulled into our property and I had people waiting there to meet us to help with the TB's..before we left we were unsure of what condition they were in.. When I unloaded these two beauties Steve said to me... "DID YOU STEAL THESE FROM BELMONT" LOLOL...
When Monica showed me thes horses I was in shock.. yes they are still underweight a little but shoot.. nothing a little time on Jen's FAt Farm won't cure.. What Monica has been doing before she was able to take possesion of these horses has been feeding them, hay and grain and watching to make sure their water was being filled. She has been working behind the scenes before she could rightfully get them out of there. She is a wonderful woman. For many many years Monica, her sister and her friends have been helping the horses in need and she is not a non-profit. I hope that we can help Monica to continue this, she is truly an advocate for the horses. I sat at lunch with her today and listening to her and I just loved it.. She was telling me how when she has someone talking pro-slaughter she hands them the John Holland rebuttle...it is great that so much information has been disseminated and is being used by so many people.
Anyway.. back to the point.. These horses are beautful.. yes they need a little more weight but thanks to Monica they are gorgeous, well mannered and on their way to a great life. We have named them Grace and Ranier because they are truly a Princess and a Prince and I want to thank Monica for not only helping us with their care now that hey are with us but also taking such great care of them beforehand.. What a true advocate for the horses.
We will put some more weight on them, work on their ground training and yes ...Prince Ranier will be losing his obvious manhood. Thank you Monica for not only helping them, but trusting us to continue their care and eventually find them their "forever home."
