Fitch fought his potential abductors and by doing so he saved the life of his brother Abercrombie.
Unfortunately Fitch could not recover from the injuries he received from these cruel and heartless people and he succumbed. Fitch lost his battle for life on March 5, 2007 at 11:56pm at the University of Georgia.
Rest in Peace Dear Brave Fitch... For you we will continue to fight!!!

Sunny & Rally

I am very excited about this storybecause it is not one I wrote. It was written by Michelle Tolley, an FOB, A friend and the forever home for two very lucky horses..

Rally is a 5-year old gelding, and an OTTB rescue from July 2005... Sunny is an 8-year old mare pulled from a "kill pen" in May 2007...

What do these horses have in common?... They were "throw-aways" in an industry that is allowing this to happen daily... Another thing they have in common...? They are "teachers" to many on the horrors of abuse, neglect and horse slaughter.

I am an individual who loves horses...I learned about the horrible conditions our horses can suffer after saving Rally in July 2005. Rally was a severe neglect/starvation case, and I found him "for sale" by an owner who gave up on his ability to race.
Rally knew I saved him, and the bond between us is very strong...I have never had a bond this strong in 30+ years of horses. This bond is just as strong today...2 years later...as we grow and learn together...Rally got another chance at living his life...
Sunny came into our lives because of the connection we have with Pure Thoughts horse and foal rescue. Jennifer and Tracy are two women who "walk the walk" when it comes to saving horses from abuse, neglect.... and the horse slaughter plant.
Sunny caught the eye of Tracy at the Sugarcreek auction in Ohio in May of this year. She paid cash to "bail her out" of the kill-buyer's pen. The Fans of Barbaro raised funds to help Pure Thoughts save (9) horses at this auction, including Sunny.
Sunny then caught the eye of my husband...After 25 years of marriage, he was ready for his first horse! Bobby grew up with horses, but I have always been the one to have a horse during our time together...This was his time, and Sunny was the one!
Sunny had a bad cut on her right hind leg, but it has healed very well and she is ready for the next phase of her life with us!
