Fitch "Forever Young" June 16. 2006 - March 5, 2007
Fitch fought his potential abductors and by doing so he saved the life of his brother Abercrombie. Unfortunately Fitch could not recover from the injuries he received from these cruel and heartless people and he succumbed.
Fitch lost his battle for life on March 5, 2007 at 11:56pm at the University of Georgia. Rest in Peace Dear Brave Fitch... For you we will continue to fight!!!

Yahzi & SarahI am so happy to tell everyone that Yahzi and Sarah will start showing this coming season. We have always hoped that Yahzi would be able to show and really let the world know what wonderful horses end up going to slaughter, that was always Brad's and my dream for Yahzi. Our problem was it had to be the right person. Someone who loved horses for the horse not for the show, someone who wanted to know and learn everything about horses. Someone who cared about the horse not what place he would come in.... well we found her.. it is Sarah. She is a wonderful young girl and an excellent rider. Yahzi really likes her also. It is a perfect combination. I will keep everyone posted of their progress and their show dates.. We woud like to say Thank You Sarah and her mom Cindy for coming into ours and Yahzi's life, this is going to be GREAT FUN!!!Here are some pics from the other day.

This is the story of my first rescue horse, the story of Yahzi
It's Worth the Wait!!!So many times people are in a hurry to get a riding horse, that is why many babies and yearlings end up in trouble... unwanted ... alone. Well I would like to tell you the story of Yahzi... my first rescue horse of my own.. It has been a wonderful journey and the best is still ahead of us. Last night Baby Boy E8 arrived. When the babies arrive they are placed on 24-hour watch. I checked the little boy at about 11pm, he is so small and has such heartache in his eyes, I hate to fathom what has gone in his short life. He was lying down, I wondered if he was going to make it through the night. Horses, especially babies can die of loneliness and stress and it was obvious that this is all this little colt had known in his life. Being torn from his mother at only a few months old…no one to care for him or about him. He looked up at me with the sweetest and loneliest eyes I have ever seen.
I sat down next to him and began to rub his head and his neck, his eyes slowly started to close and his breathing became deeper. After about 20 minutes he could not keep his head up and he laid his head in my lap as he fell into a deep sleep.
As the tears began to stream down my face, I wondered how long it had been since this foal had sweet dreams and a night of safe slumber
I stayed with Yahzi that night and many many nights after that until Yahzi was strong enough both physically and mentally to be with the other horses. Yahzi and I have been through very much together including a nasty case of ringworm which you can see. But everyday only brought us new adventures and a stronger bond.
And today .... 3 years later Yahzi went on his first trail ride and he loved it.. Oh his rider.. no that isn't me.. That is Steve, you all know Steve...But Mom was waiting with camera in hand when he got home... I was so proud. I hope you enjoyed my story and I hope after reading it you will think about looking at the yearlinsg available on the adoption page .. they are even older than Yahzi.. Two years is not that long to wait.. It is just long enough for you to make Best Friend Forever |
